Who´s hot – Players to watch
Jimmy Chevrel of the Suns scored 4 Goals and added another 5 assists to a total of 9 points in 6 AAC games. The French Winger is also the Suns best goal scorer during the regular EZM season with 10 goals in 20 games. Beside Chevrel keep an eye on Jeremy Ireland, who also got 9 points in 6 AAC games with 4 goals and 5 assists, but as a defender. So don´t give this guy a shot from your blueline. Also you should keep your head up if Ireland is on the ice, with 16 hits (6 againts Halifax) he is the Suns toughest defenseman, too. In addition to the Suns Top Line, winger Joseph Plummer scored 5 goals during this AAC season, which makes him the best goal scorer for the Suns.
On the Halifax Side you should definitely watch out for Rickard Lawton who scored 4 goals and added another 7 assists for the Highlanders during this AAC. Lawton also leads the team in points (24) in the current EZM season. Together with their best goal scorer Bobby Ashby (6 goals) he could bring home victory to Halifax in their jubilee season. On the defensive side don´t cross the lines of Jimmy Shanahan and Doug Hollinger who shared a total 44 hits to their opponents during the past 6 pre final games.
Prediction
If you expect a close game with low goal scoring and lots of hits you might be right. Overtime has a chance, too. Both side´s offer great goaltending and three solid lines, so the shape and a good start in the game would be important. Home ice advantage, the regular season win and an always good third period in close games, maybe makes Orlando the slight favourite, but this gives Halifax the opportunity to play their game without pressure.
